its been an overcast, rainy weekend. but there’s a bright side:

school is ending! yay!!

late nights of studying are over! (for now at least!) i’m looking forward to a few months of no more tests, essays, quizzes, and projects… its going to be a nice summer break :)

To Kill a Mockingbird

This was for a school project I did recently! I set up scenes from the book, To Kill a Mockingbird, and captured them on camera. Here’s Scout, the tomboy little girl, the main character.

Scout and her older brother, Jem, like spending their summer days acting out books, plays, and pretending to be their weird or scary neighbors.

The Radleys live nearby, and Boo Radley never, ever seems to leave his house. So, of course they need to leave him a letter asking him to come out, right?

Maybe Boo isn’t the man Scout and Jem think he was. After watching a neighbors house catch fire, Scout finds a blanket across her shoulders when they come out of their daze. Who could have put that there?!

I have this taped to my wall near my desk and it makes me smile whenever I see it :) What a bunch of nuts… the question is, how did we all fit in there?! haha memories!

Yay!!! It’s finally here: David and Rhea’s engagement shoot! I’m so excited about this couple, and shooting their wedding is going to be amazing. We took a trip down to D.C. to mix the metro into our theme, since commuting is a big part of their lives. They also love spending hours and hours in museums, like this one!

It was blustery and a little chilly out, but we had fun all the same :)

We snuck in front of the Canadian Embassy to get some pictures since David is Canadian…

The Union Station was an incredible place! I really love the building and how everyone has somewhere to go.

We rode the metro and took pictures along the way… I never really thought of the metro station as a photogenic place, but it was stunning (with David and Rhea of course)!

this weekend i attended my first banquet (sort of like prom without dancing) got home in the wee hours, then woke up to set off to D.C. with a couple for their engagement shoot.

there will be lots more pictures soon.
but monday is school, and homework comes first.
siiigh…

this morning i read this piece of scripture and found it very encouraging:

“you whom I took from the ends of the earth,
and called from its farthest corners,

I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

i am dying to do more spring photoshoots! it’s been fabulous weather recently, and every time i go outside i keep thinking about how much i want to have a photoshoot. i would love to take pictures of your family, you and your friends, your senior pictures, your kids, or an event you’re planning!

today was is a day to celebrate! today is my mom’s birthday, so the girls in our family went out on a day trip to mount airy.

we walked through the cute little town, shopped at different stores, and had breakfast and lunch out! happy birthday mama!!! (i hope you had the best day ever!!)

of course we had to choose the seats outdoors!

it was so sunny and pretty warm outside… which was sooo nice after these cold rainy days recently.

okay this store, retro metro, was amazing!!! it had the strangest things… like a book of pranks (we bought it hahah), a foot tall chocolate easter bunny, wallets made from recycled juice boxes, a clock with math problems as the digits… basically every cool thing you can think of. i literally spent ten minutes looking at their front display! best store ever! :D

and we went to an antique store (for my mom), where i dropped a tin cupcake mold, made a huge racket which scared the lady who worked there, and almost broke a lot of jars (but i didn’t)… and i got this picture through a neon pink handkerchief…

here’s chichi as my model :) what a cutie patootie.
